air intrusion

From what i gather from all you guys is that i have a problem with air getting into my fuel system. I think i have narrowed it down to three places. On both the passenger side and driver side, in the rear of the engine, one on each side the return lines are damp with fuel and on the farthest injector back the little plastic part that the return line connects too is very loose and fuel comes out? Any ideas? Thanks alot.

I'd say it's time for a injector return line kit.

I'm always in to much of a hurry to wait for them and just get them from Napa or the like. But they are available on the net for like 25 bux.

Some one just posted a good price maybe they'll chime in.

I just did the o-rings in the return tees. Bought them at the dealer for 40 cents a pop thinking they were something special...nope. Made my own return lines cause I had the fuel line. Like they told me here, helped out a whole lot on starting. Not tough to do, and worth the time spent.

If you replace 1, replace all of them.
As soon as you distrub one that is not leaking, it will be in the next time you drive the truck.

After you install new ones, make every effort to not disturb the tee's or return lines.

You can get all the parts at International. They don't have a kit, just all the parts. Runs $20-$25.

If you go to napa it will be called an injector install kit.
A lot of the guys here deal with pensacola diesel and give good reports.
Take Daves advice change them all at one time or you will never quit changing them takes about 2 hours. The best way I have found to do it is take one side off in one piece lay them on the old ladys kitchen table and cut the fuel lines and put the new set together exactly the same lube the orings and install one side at a time making sure the caps pop down all the way. Be carefull not to crossthread your injector lines when you go back together or you open a whole new can of worms.

And last but not least, when you move the injection lines to remove the caps, try not to bend the lines.

Best to just deflect them out of the way with as little bending as possible.

Also make sure the nut is turning on the injection line, not stuck and twisting the line.
40 to 50 dollars a piece if you kink them.
