It depends on how much your tranny is heating up. Do you have a trans temp gauge? Your truck has an exhaust backpressure valve (EBPV) from the factory that you can wire onto a switch and use like an exhaust brake, but it's not as effective as a "real" exhaust brake. There are also several options for add-on exhaust brakes out there, right now the only one that comes to mind is the BD Power one.
Since I see you are new, let me say welcome! You'll find for towing that a good set of aftermarket gauges (at least exhaust temp and trans temp) are a huge help. A boost pressure gauge is also a nice one to have. There are kits available from several suppliers that have 2, 3, or even 4 gauge setups that are easy to install. Dipricol and Isspro are the gauge favorites, and Diesel Manor is a good source for both. You may also want to consider some transmission mods (valve body or shift kit) to help prolong the life of the trans. And a TW or DP Tuner chip for extra power of course Welcome to the site, dig around and you'll find a ton of good info here.

Let me know if you need any information on the BD Exhaust Brake, Gauges or even a Trans Cooler.
