Advice requested. Can latex caulks be used as a seam filler instead of the highly over priced seam fillers sold by auto parts stores? It would remain flexible and be paintible. I thought about silicon based caulks but don't believe they hold paint very well. Opinions please.
Thanks,
Lee
Hi, go for the expensive urethane based seam sealers they are worth the money. If you use something not designed for this application it will fail and your paint at the very least will be lost. The urethane based sealers are manufactured just for this and stick well to metal and don't let water in and are paintable they are the way to go. You can probably reseal the whole truck with 2 tubes they go along way. John
