Does anyone know how to replace the bulbs behind the key pad? What is the bulb number. I have every other button light out. I know how to remove the door panels. Are the bulbs even replaceable or is it an entire assembly?
you would think they were replaceable but its ford and my guess would be you'd have to buy an assembly
So thats an assumption? I don't go off assumption I asked if anyone knew if it was or if it wasn't. This used to be the best site on the net to get ANSWERS to questions. I have owned Ford for a long time, I know about their assemblies. I was also told that it was going to take 6 hrs to replace a dash light bulb in an Expedition..... it took 25 min. Once again, I do not go off assumption. Is it able to be replaced or isn't it. It is in at least 2 sectors, i do know that much. The window switch lights cannot be replaced unless you replace the entire switch, I was wondering if this was the same way.
Thanks for the help Rob, but it was not the answer I was looking for. I could have made the assumption also, thats why I asked the question
I just pulled out all my door handles, (switched them to painted handles)....and there is no bulb behind the handle....so i'm guessing you'll be replacing the whole thing....
With that attitude it is a wonder anyone ever answers your questions................
I didn't have a bad attitude until I got a totally worthless answer. I have my own opinion about how to fix it. I also have extensive knowledge. I simply asked if anyone else had come across this problem and if it was an assembly or individual bulbs. I don't understand why someone would post an answer to a question that had no idea on how to fix it! Maybe now you will understand why I posted the way I did. I have been here for longer than you have and this site used to be among the best on the web for solutions and answers. Not so much now. Maybe too many new members, maybe not.
I guess I can understand your frustration, but your reply to someone who thought he was offering help was certainly not encouraging. Sorry for coming down on you...and it makes no difference who was here first; people try to help.

The correct way to try to help if you feel that you need to post is as follows:
I havent had the handles off so I can't tell you how they are lit. They might be LED's it might be an entire assembly.
This wouldn't have triggered a response from me. I already knew that.
I 2nd Tylus on the junkyard solution. 2nd Easiest/cheapest, but not so fast.
Buy from Ford, Expensive/fast (maybe depending on availability)
Repair not worth the effort.
