I have a strange noise coming from under the dash on the driver's side. Best way to describe it is it sounds like putting a frozen french fry into hot grease. It stops when I disconnect the battery cable. ANy help would be appreciated, it is kinda scaring me.

sounds like an electrical connection is bad, either a harness, or corroded wires. get it checked asap or you might smell smoke and have your dash catch on fire. not to scare you, but you should be concerned.
