Yup mine did it too. anyone have a good source that is less than the $75.00 ea. stealership price? EOTZ-5775-C or Dorman 722-005. i found the dorman number, but no price and unsure of the quality comparison. grade 5 or 8 bolts? what would you use? thanks for any pointers. oh by the way, yes i can do this, no sweat and in my sleep, just havin diff finding parts without going blind!....joe
Not sure what's in your area....LMC has them for 49.95...part#45-1373
I would check a few other online suppliers as this seems high to me as well. I picked mine up at a spring shop locally for under $40..but I find you can usually find lower prices in the U.S.
I just happen to have a couple of catalogues in front of me and found one in LMC's. I looked in NPD's book but It appears they don't have them...not sure why
In any event, If you shop around...check online suppliers, you can at least beat the 50 dollar mark. You may also check the yellow pages for a local spring shop that services trucks.
I will also mention that when I swapped mine out, I also replaced the shackles as well. It was impossible to get the bushing out of mine without destroying them.
Also, You will want grade 8 bolts or better. I believe the spring shop gave me grade 9...of course they were extra.
All the best....
P.S..
No offense to anyone, but I would be cautious about buying parts off of ebay, but that is just my opinion.
Just ordered mine from LMC, as well as the shackles. I work at Lowes and can get Grade 8 bolts there so I'm set on bolts too. I lucked out, my uncle had a 77 F150 that he changed the hangers in, but turned out only one was bad so he had the other one laying around, and guess what.....same exact item number for my 95 F150. You would think after years of these rotting out that they would change the design at least a little. I'm going to tackle mine next weekend, parts are due in on Wednesday
ok, i called around to the couple of spring shops nearby. 43.99 and 45.99. takes week to ten days to get em in. made one more call to o'reilly for parts for another car i'm playin with...30.99 ea. and i'll have em tuesday. us made, looked at the ones on the mgrs' F250, and couldn't really see any diff from stock! by the time i get both with shackles and bushings and bolts, i'm done with both sides for under $125. instead of that for one side. just thought someone had been through enough of em to have a honey hole for them...thanks all!
Try Stengel Bros. Inc. that is where I am going to order mine from when I get around to it. Here is a link for complete set, hangers, shackles, and all the bolts $124 338-1949K
They seem to be a fairly reputable place. If you only want the hangers 338-1949 they are $23 a piece and you can get the bolts at any parts store. I would go with a grade 5 or 8. The rivets that hold the hangers on currently can't be more than grade 1 or 2.
Thank You for the stengel bros. info. oreilley said dorman was out with no production date listed for resupply. stengel is the type of place i just KNEW someone had sniffed out! one stop shopping is DEVINE!
