fast cold idle question
Hello all, I have a 1990 F350 with a fuel injected 460. I was wondering if there is ANY way to have it stay on the high idle longer? It probably runs fast for 10 seconds then to low. Is there some sort of switch I could hook up into a circuit to make it run high for longer?? thanks!

I would bet that it's all in the computer programming. Nothing external to do with it. In cold start, it pours a specific amount of added fuel to get it started, then a specific time frame it kicks it back to normal run mode. No real "choke" to deal with anymore.

It's all computer related. I don't know if it'll work or not, but you could look into the possibility of the optional upfitter switches used on the 99-newer Super Duties and see if there is a way to make them work. I would think there is a way to make it work.

well it idles at 1300 cold for ten seconds, then to 800 or so. Nothing wrong with the hot idle speed. But man does it take forever to warm up at 800 rpms lol.
Has anyone else heard of anyone hooking in an externaly controlled high idle speed switch?
