Need Info

Okay fellow ford friends i need some help. last week on my way into work i was struck by a car and sent flying in the air. Currently have a Hurniated disk in the l3,l4,l5 vertebrates and now i have approxmatly 2 pinched nerves. and the worst part is the guy that hit me drove off and nobody got his info .the reason i am telling this is because now that i have been injured my left leg goes numb when i try to push in the clutch. since i dont want to sell my truck the only option is to convert to automatic. what automatic tranny do you guys recommend and how hard will this swap be what parts do i need to do this. since this was my dads truck and i have invested alot of money in the truck already i really dont want to sell it but with my leg the way it is i am not able to drive it alot so any help you guys can give would be great.

Sorry to hear about your injuries. I know how bad a back can put you out.

Not sure what kind of truck you have or any details, so can't really help you on transmission.

I drove the truck today but my leg starts tingling after i shift from 2nd to 3rd I really would hate switching to automatic because i know that it wont make the same horsepower as before however i have heard that you can make automatic transmisson be just a strong as a standard i dont know if this is true or not.

sorry for your pain.

they are just different, one is better at some things and the other is better at some things.

if this is just temporary then buy a cheap beater with auto is my advice

^^^ Agreed. If you can get fixed up, id say just buy a 400 dollar beater until your better. Otherwise, a C6 will be the easiest swap, as it has no electronics to deal with. But it also has no overdrive. If you need overdrive, than an E4OD would be what to get, but that transmission will need a bit more work to get working properly

you should look into spinal decompression treatment... they also have synthetic discs they can put it your back without invasive procedures... I'm an emt sometimes (have license but don't work as one) also I think there is a procedure they can do where they inject a lubricating type substance between your vertebrae to help take some pressure off... hope it works out for you
