When it gets really cold up here, I have been noticing that my truck produces a "rattle" of some sort. Its tough to explain though. You can hear it in the cab, sounds like a low rumble/rattle, but you cant hear it outside. It comes and goes as you accelerate, and slow down. It seems to come from right in the middle of the truck, right near the firewall.
I gotta admit, I got lazy today and didnt check it out. Its supposed to warm up lots this weekend so i will poke around a little more.
I did do a search and nothing came up as a "common problem" like this, so it might just be the cold, perhaps some ice stuck somewhere or something. I do tend to drive through snowbanks and stuff and sometimes sounds can be deceiving where they appear to come from.
Well, I know for a fact that my exhaust has shifted and the pipe is hitting/rubbing my tranny pan now. I hope I can fix that this weekend. It is so tight I may need to put another dent in the pipe for clearance.
