What is the best bang for the buck on code scanners? Need to be able to read transmission codes. I already have a cheap actron and it won't pick up anything that flashes my OD light.
Talk to Joey at Terminator Engineering about the Scangauge- about $240 bucks but has all kinds of capabilities.
You can also scrounge Ebay and CL for a VIN locked or used Superchips programmer as they read DTC's also.
Good call on the 1705. My wife has a 03 Exploder. Don't know if I can wait for an auction though. Will probably tow to dealer on Monday if I can't find the prob.
Ron on post #4 made a good point. Before spending all that money if your connected with your VA. chapter or somebody was close by, somebody might help you out and read them codes for yaa, i'm to far away or I would help you, good luck..Check that out..
i dont think equis scaners will work with diesel trucks that i know of.
There was a thread some where else that I read this morning and someone was saying that they had one that read the codes on their deisel. I can't find the thread. I looked up the scanner to call the maufacture but forgot to bookmark it
