Tried to put a pic together with no luck. I have a 79 F-350 single cab long bed. The question is either to shorten the frame for the flareside. or drop an extended cab on and flareside. Im not sure how the bed will look with an extended cab tho. i dont want it to look like the megacabs or 4dr short beds. those things are rediculously ugly. I need a cab either way i go so that doesnt matter. Mostly worried about what it would look like. If someone is handy with photo shop that would be handy. but i just cant quite picture it. The extra room inside would be a plus. Help me decide plz. THanks guys
Mike
PS if it helps ya to picture it, it has 6" lift and 35x12.5x17s on it. and bright red.
Hey, could you post some pics of it from the side, I don't have photoshop, but I am good with paint. Post up some side pics of your truck along with pics of both a supercab and a flareside bed, I'll see what I can come up with.
Thats what i was trying to do... but i couldnt find pics that i could splice together... either wrong view or to close/too far away. Ill look again tho and see what i can find.
Thanks man... its about to really come alive because i have no more money drain (women). Got some wheels ordered but they send 6 lug. Ill get picks up with the new treads when i get em on.
Okay, so i got bored on paint yesterday and drew up the truck. Its not perfect but i think it gives the look. oh, finally got my new wheels and tires on. They look good. Too bad i cant drive for a while...
here you go dude. this is about what your looking for. I'm decent at Photoshop, but not this good. I found this a while ago in someone's gallery. I think the guy said that he had this bed lying around instead of buying a styleside. hope this isn't too late.
I give a second on that paint pic. make sure that the pic is a JPEG.
Maybe simpler, but he may be having a hard time finding an 8' flareside. I have only seen a few, most have been on this site, or has been a chevy 8' stepside. Which I have seen those in person, but who would want chevy stuff on a ford?? Not "I".
Thanks for the post Doc! Can you format a pic to change what type of file it is? I tried to upload it to my gallery. I can try going thru photobucket and see if that works
Im not shortening the frame, thats why im finding an extended cab. I have a single cab long bed. So extended cab short bed = the same wheel base. I dunno if i really dig the look tho. Lemme know what you guys think, yay or nay. Picture it red with not quite so much lift, and without those fugly mirrors lol.
