Hub Cap Troubles
1970/72 Explorers used two similar versions of the MAG style wheel covers. Also used on the cars from 1968 thru 1972: DOAZ1130A & DOAZ1130B.
Then there was the 1969/72 Explorer wheel cover marked in two places around the center: EXPLORER = C9TZ1130B.
I'd bet that this marked Explorer wheel cover will be harder to find....than Jimmy Hoffa!
Anyone want a set of the mag style wheel covers, swing on by and pick 'em up.
I had collected several spare sets for my 1968 Galaxie XL. I sold the XL on ebay two years ago.
I will not ship the covers, they are free...you come and get them.
A little bigger than the 1+31/32" size in the "help!" junk.
By about 1+1/4" deep.
'75 F150 2wd disc brakes.
One original one is still good but the "gal with no brakes" took one out.
It'd be cool to have a pair. ;)

ps- you guys repacking your front wheel bearings ever 20k miles?
pps- the best grease I've found so far is the "red stuff".

My originals were used for dog pans! LOL :)
No, never liked the looks of those! :(
If they had came on my pickup, they would have stayed at the dealers
when I drove away the first day. No kidding. {shiver}

That's the front hub grease cap, 'tis not refered to as a hub cap.

LF1131B .. Grease Cap / 1 31/32" in diameter / LF1131B replaced LF1131A / Available from Ford.
MSRP each: $3.50 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $2.52.
--------------------------------------------------------
This **&%#$ replaced aka updated part number jazz is one of my FAV-O-RITE RANTS:
Some idiots at FoMoCo had the dumbest of ideas...because they updated 10 gazillion part number suffixes in the late 1980's due to a packaging change.
This crappola rendering all the orginal part numbers obsolete.

Why Ford did this I dunno, but this has cost them millions of dollars, because the last editions of the 1973/79 car and truck parts catalogs came out before the change.
So the catalogs only reflect the old part numbers.
Some partsguys that are klewless, think all those gazillion parts are obsolete, when only the suffixes changed.
Every week I see references here where someone went a dealer, the cluck behind the counter says the part is obsolete..but in fact, prolly 50% of the time...it ain't!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
btw: LF1131B fits:
1968/79 F100 2WD / 1975/79 F150 2WD / 1965/72 F250 2WD.
1973/79 F250 2WD (Regular Cab only) / 1949/55 Lincoln.
MSRP each: $3.50 // FTEpartsguy.com price each: $2.52.
Thanks, Bill. :)
And yep, I was told they were obsolete.
I got to where I hated hearing that O word.
Wouldn't step back into a Ford dealership because of hearing it so much.
And the parts guys would say it like it was fun too, like...
"hahaha I don't have to go -fetch- anything for you"
number suffixes in the late 1980's due to a packaging change.
Betcha money on it. BTSeenT crap pulled many times. :/

ps- Nothing against the OP's wheel covers, they just always looked
way-too car-like for me. {shiver ;}
pps- A copper-ore crusher-plant was -full(!)- of guys running around looking
busy and then they shut down for 19 months and was sold to ASARCO and
came back on line... I wandered around in there for about an hour and a half
and didn't see anybody, sat in the control room reading the labels on the
jillion switches and lights for 45 minutes and left didn't see anybody the whole
time and the whole place was running to beat hell too! :)
ppps- I had signal equipment inside there to announce the arrival of the ore
train and no one in there anymore to hear the siren go off! :) LOL :)
How the hell did Ford install 15" wheel covers on a 16" rim?
EZ, by using this: D2TZ1210A .. 16" Stainless Steel Trim (Beauty) Ring
The trim ring was snapped on first, the 15" wheel cover was snapped into it!
If I had a dime for all those wheel covers that flew off...I'd be rich.
Another example of one a Ford's better ideas!
I can believe that.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
The difference is in the color of the paint.
Some have the 5 depressions painted black (D5TZ1130A), some were painted gold (D5TZ1130B).
These are wheel covers, not hub caps.
Hub caps only cover the center of the wheel, while wheel covers....

D5TZ1137A .. APPLIQUE -Use with D5TZ1130A or D5TZ1130B wheel covers / Obsolete
It's your lucky day....
