Alright guys, seats in my new 01 F-150 are messed up the frame is broke and so are the tracks and the seat frame for the back dont know how....
So my options are find another bucket seat (truck has a console with a bad top)
Or go with the 40/20/40 seats that seat 3 which I would rather have...
With my buckets my seat belts are mounted with the seats the other way they mount to the car anyone done this swap just wondering how hard it is what I need are all the holes drilled in the B pillar already?
Been there done that, but I swapped from a bench in an xl to expy buckets and console in a standard cab 02 F150. All the holes are pre drilled or stamped into the floor. To get at them you need to remove the carpet or mat. My floor was all heavy dirt so I washed everything out and dried it before reinstalling the mat. I cut the holes in the mat with a razor knife just large enough for the bolt to go through. Some of mine originally unused bolt holes were not tapped, when the bolt threads in, it cuts its own threads if it was not tapped. Use matching seatbelt assemblys from the donor vehicle. Keep all bolts, some might be different lengths. Expedition front buckets and console are a bolt in, same goes for lincoln navigator, just stay with 97-03 for years.
Cool sounds like a plan anyone happen to know of a place to get seats or if anyone has them bench or buckets work but if I keep the buckets I need a new console lid ya know?
By searching a few pick a part yards in the chicagoland area, I was able to find a expy which had the seats/console i needed in the correct grey color. Dirty, but really nice stuff.I took everything out. I shampooed it all before installation, but not 1 rip, tear, etc period. Price? about $100 for the 2 seats, console, all seat belts and all bolts. I also have great success using the local craigslist , but you need to watch everyday.
i work at a junk year in nj and we only have one 97 and newer f150 in stock. no expy or nav. the f150 has been there for over 3 years and theres almost nothing left to it. these trucks are to good to junk!!!
Sorry to say but up here I recently found quite a few. The first yard had 3 expeditions, and from that place I got the seats and console from 1 truck, a rear bumper from another and a headlight switch **** from the third .Price $130 Second yard had 2 F150 pickups , but I couldnt use anything. Then my son walked through one way across town and called me to come there with him. That one had a F150 and a lincoln navigator. That yard gave me the windshield and a right door mirror from the F150 .Price $50 The navigator had been rolled a few times. Craigslist gave me a tailgate and aluminum tool box.Price $200 Ebay had a brand new set of takeoff alloy wheels and rwl 17" tires with the nubs on them all still for an 02 navigator which were in elkhart indiana sitting in a warehouse for 6 years Prige? $350 and I drove 100 miles or so each way to pick them up. Flawlessly perfect. A local thrift store had a set of nos front molded mud flaps for $5. Front and rear brake pads and rear rotors from a friend who works at a local aftermarket parts distributor were only $120 . 4 new shocks on ebay were $85 , There you go. Last week I walked through another yard and they had 2 F150 standard cab xl trucks there, 1 had a nice 8 foot box less gate with the ford logo bedliner.
All these parts went on an 02 F150 xl truck I picked up on the cheap which had been a work truck for drywalling company.
I have passed on several expys for parts on the local craigslist during the last couple months cause I didnt need anything.
