Also the short wire harness with proper connector is available through Ford Dealers, makes connecting it so easy. Mine was part number 4L3T-15A416-AB It's been about a year ago, But think price was only $13.00.

You can usually get an adaptor harness for your truck with your brake controller if you get one of the controllers that uses a plug in harness.
The Tekonsha Prodigy is highly recommended on some of the truck boards.
Some vendors are including a free harness with the controller....
