It's been gone at least two months now. We discussed this back then and no one knew what happened with it. The administrator had a serious accident maybe year or so ago and maybe it just got too much for him to maintain. No one knows. The last time this was discussed here some things got messed up and incorrect information was posted.
Maybe someone has heard something new and posts it here.
I know he ended up with a brain injury after some guy hit him while he was riding his bike. His activity on there seemed to get less and less as time went on. Apparently the Bonusbuilt site just fell by the wayside for him. It's a sad deal but very understandable. He had a lot of great basic info on there that I used when restoring my 50. Everything from 12V conversions to rear end swaps and vendors. It would be wonderful if someone would contact him and resurrect the site. Bob??

I've tried to send him a message but haven't gotten a reply.
The last his wife posted on the BB site was that he was getting better. Again, I hope it's just the case he went on to other things. Dick tried to get information from Godaddy, the company he had his sites through, but they wouldn't help.

He used to have a "Horrortaxi" blog site but all I get is "Account Suspended" with various suffixes there too. What I liked about the Bonusbuilt site was that it was well organized and of course catered specifically to the 48-52s. It would just be a shame to lose all that great info. It's great that you've been trying to do something!
Before he was hit by a car, him or his wife also got into a moderate impact with their car. It was hit head on by an uninsured motorist. I forget who was driving his vehicle, but there were some minor injuries involved. He contacted me for some insurance claim advice after the impact. We've had some extensive conversations when he was going through that claim.
His website inspired me to start up a site strictly for Panel trucks. It's currently in the building stages, but I hope to have my site similar to the old bonusbuilt.com site. Bonus Built Panels
If someone had some additional info for Dan, like a lead on an address or phone number, I would gladly try to make a contact, especially in person, since my brother lives about 15 minutes from Burbank.
I wouldn't mind taking over that site as well to continue its legacy.
Hi guys. I lurk on here daily trying to pick up pointers and guides on how to proceed on my '50 F1. I am finally maybe able to add something useful. This is what I got on the bonusbuilt website from whois:
Wentz, Dan dan@horrortaxi.net
547 E. Santa Anita Ave
Burbank, California 91501
United States
8184347143
Was a GREAT site and I hope Dan is living a large life.
