Door glass runs and anti-rattle felt install

Getting ready to install new door glass runs and anti-rattle felts in the doors of my '63 3/4 ton pick up. I haven't done this before but I'm very excited about the prospect of my glass not rattling around anymore. Does anyone have any tips or tricks for this project? Any guidance is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Kurt

In the Dennis Carpenter catalog there are a few pages showing how to do this. Take you time with it. I found it easier to use the door glass out of the door as a form for the rear run rather than try to form it in the door channel. I also made a t shaped driver to tap the pins in place. Again form the track slowly so it stays in a smooth arc.

Good Luck with it.....

Thanks for the info. I'll have to check to see if I have a DC catalog. Anyone have any tips on removal? When I did the doors on my '78 it all came out in small pieces.

Found by downloading DC online catalog from their website the 'how to' info begins on page 127.

If you're only replacing the glass runs and anti-rattlers, do you still need to remove the glass from the door?

Between the window regulator (23200) and the window channel (21458) that the glass fits into, is a nylon window roller (23240).

Disconnect the roller, the window will fall down to the bottom of the door, allowing enough clearance that the inner/outer door belt w/strips (21452/21453 - aka anti-rattlers) can be replaced.

I replaced all the weather strips on my '65 F100 in 1981 with genuine Ford parts (still available back then). But I don't recall what has to be done to replace 21508.

I remember it came as a straight piece that had to be bent to fit, I managed to do this without it kinking. I assume that Carpenter's repro weather strips match the Ford originals.

I have a Dennis Carpenter 1957/66 bound paper truck repro parts catalog (2011 edition) that shows on pages 126/127 a step-by-step 'how to' replace all the door weather strips.

I just looked at Carpenter's online catalog, all the weather strips are shown, but I don't see any 'how to' section.

Edit: See post 4, Dave found it.
