I have 06 f-250 psd the other day I had cel light to come on. Pulled codes said misfire on all 8 injectors, Truck running o.k. Then one morning the truck would crank and die after 4 times cranking truck cranked and run smooth. I unhooked my battery cables and it cleared the cel light and did not come back on for a couple days and got same codes. Ecept for the one time the truck has cranked and run fine except cel light on. One day the light went off on its on and then came back the next day. I checked the batteries got 12.60 checked alt got 14.4, Replaced fuel filters(motorcraft) could it be that my ficm going bad or something else?
I have read through alot of post and have seen where there has been several of the ficm going south. Just for note no warranty left went out about 8000 miles ago. Money is tight right now any ideas or help I would appreaciate.
With 8 contribution codes it is sure looking like the FICM is going south. Is there a tuner on your truck? There is a ground for the FICM on the last valve cover stud, it's worth your while to have a look at that.
UPDATE: I replaced the FICM a couple days ago. That was the problem, no codes and the truck seems to run smoother & stronger. I lucked up and found a used one off of an 07 with 48000 at a used parts dealer for $400. Took me about 30 mins. to replace it was not as bad as I thought is was going to be.
