guys, have a 2000 f250 super duty with a 5 spd and a 7.3.
my brother did some offroading in it when it was low on fuel and got stuck. it was skipping and farting when i got there. pulled it out and got it home. changed fuel filter, and it was really hard to start, woul dnot start unless you put pedal to floor then one it started let off, it idle real rough. we put a new inline fuel pump on it and it took along time for it to pull fuel from the tank. we also put a new cam sensor in it. it still starts very very hard and runs rough till its warm, ho wlong does it take to get air out of fuel system after changing inline fuel pump? is there any purge methods or anything?
i am thinking there may be an air leak in an injector line causing rough running/hard starting till its warm?? please let me know it does not seem to be throwing trouble codes.
we also replaced air filter, removed air filter, messing with this thing. please help
thanks
it can take a while for air to pass most likely just needs to run a while id guess. unless something bad happenedthe fuel tank could have been damaged causing the pickup tube to be bent or somthing similar... causing lack of fuel pressure just a thought hope ya get er back runnin top notch
shouldn't there be out of the lines once you warm it up? unless like you said theres a fuel leak, or you have a fouled injectors
what would fouled injectors do or act like?
if the screens were plugged in the tank, it woul dnot run better once warm would it?
i recently got an 06 crew cab ford f350 with a 6.0l in it so i am selling this one and just want to get it running nice.
can the screens or filter inthe tank just be cleaned and re-assembled?
p.s
how quick should a new pump, pick up fuel from the tank? we have tried 2 different new pumps, and truck has 150k miles on it
it also sounds like a choke issue i'm not familiar with a diesel but i know that 351 carbed motor had the same issue and ended up being the auto choke, but yours sounds like it works just not at the correct time.

not to be rude, but i am not a diesel guru, but you def should not be posting on diesel threads.
diesels do not have chokes, or ignitions etc
thanks for your help.
