I found, 1972 camper special
What are these things worth? I was looking for a body swap for my 76 high boy and ran across the camper special. the guy that has it told me his brother had it in storage for 20 years, and it looks like it too, hardly any rust,and it's only showing 50k for milage, unusual for Pa. What size motors were in them ?

Neat, more than likely it has a 360 or a 460, also a few others.
Ok I'm going back out there today or tomorrow. I know it's hard without seeing it but I would like some idea of the value of this truck. Like I said there's some surface rust ( very little bubbling along the edges of the trim),I did see some rust on the drivers side cab mount, and on the inner fender where the hood bolts up. I think this is a 460, I'll find out. The doors, are unusually tight they work almost like new, the interior is ok except the dash is all cracked up
I'd say get it. $500 is scrap prices around here.
My 1972 F-250 Explorer Camper special had a 390 V8, C6 tranny. I had a 4v carb conversion done to it and that truck would flat go. it got pretty good gas mileage too, if you kept off the secondaries. 15 mpg unloaded, 11 with camper, and 4 mpg if you hit the secondaries. You could actually see the gas gauge move toward empty. But it would bottom out that 120 mph speedo. I was young and foolish once.

No 460 engines were installed in F100/350's until 1973.
1968/72 Camper Specials:
The standard engine was the 300 I-6, the 360 2V and 390 2V were optional.
The engine code is the 4th digit of the VIN.
B = 300 I-6 / H = 390 2V / Y = 360 2V.
Do not assume that the truck only has 50,000 miles.
The odometers of these trucks only read to 99,999.9 then return to ZERO.
So...the mileage could be 50,000, 150,000, 250,000 or?
These trucks are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it.
