What indicates bed size?

What indicates bed size?
I'm looking to buy a 2008 F150 but I don't see on window sticker (online) or sometimes in descriptions what the bed size is. How is that communicated? I tried a vin decoder but was surprised it was not (apparently) in there either unless it is GVWR related.

look at the photo provided and compare the distance from the gas tank lid to the rear of the cab.
gas lid almost touching back of cab = 5.5' bed
gas lid about 1.5' back from cab = 6.5' bed
gas lid about 3' back from cab = Heavy Duty F-150 with 8 ft bed
gas lid almost touching back of cab = 5.5' bed
gas lid about 1.5' back from cab = 6.5' bed
gas lid about 3' back from cab = Heavy Duty F-150 with 8 ft bed
