Alignment of 2004-2008 f150 4x4 front ends-Camber adjustment WILL REQUIRE install of a "camber kit". The amount of adjustment must first be determined by alignment tech on rack and then ordered. Some info led me to think camber could not be adjusted.
I went through that on my used 07 expy EL. Had to order a kit. Considerable trouble getting the right kit sent for some reason.
There are some things that do not add up with this procedure. First of all, alignment (maybe slightly different on a new vehicle--doubt it though) is considered a "maintainence item", therefor not covered by all those warranties and add on warranties from Ford.
It really begs the question "do they come correctly aligned from the assy line?" or do they just throw some cams on them just to get them to roll out the assy line door, then let the customer "Pay' for what they should have done to start with. Maybe you have to wait until some irreversable wear shows up on your new tires.
You really cant prove that you didnt hit a pothole and knock it out of alignment---even you know you didnt.
Still confusing when they say one side is 8 deg out (?) but the other is O.K. then they replace both sides because the kit is in "sets"
Supposedly the kits from the local parts houses, even though by a brand name, do not fit.
My Expy (I know this isnt the Expy forum, but same front end assy) drives better, but still I dont like the way you have to watch it because it wanders a little too much for me.
Hope this isnt too much for what you were talking about

this is true because you have to measure the camber to know if its out or not. to know if a camber kit is needed. all a camber kit is a bolt that hads a keyway and two egg shaped washers
the trucks don't come with them from the factroy but you can buy them from place like napa and fisher autopart store
I posted this Moog bolt kit(K80087) on an earlier thread that had alignment issues. This kit makes adjusting easier but the factory adjustment slots are not changed. If you are 8 degrees out I would think you hit a helluva pothole. This kit will not change that.
I had the 2" AutoSpring kit put in the front of my 06 4X4 SuperCab at a local shop that has a very good lazer alignment machine. We weren't sure about whether it would need the camber kit or not. My luck was good that day and it didn't need one. I don't know if you went with the 2 1/2" or more if you would, but you don't need it with the 2" lift.
