Well, last week i traded in the Ex. i ordered and took delivery of a New Hummer H3. i no longer needed or wanted a Diesel. i no longer tow anything and didnt need a rig that large. any way if anyone is looking for an 05 Ex with the 6.0 under 75000 miles , still under PSD warranty, with almost new 285 tires and a new Edge monitor its sitting at Bergstrom used center in neenah. the internet price they are asking is 18,900. this truck is in Excellent cond. interior and exterior and runs excellent
I am just wondering why you bought a vehicle from a company that is going to be non existent in 2 years and GM is eliminating the Hummer brand. Good luck getting warranty service and Hummer specific parts....
"General Motors Corp. plunged 15 percent after its auditor said the automaker may not survive.......GM slumped 15 percent to $1.86. The largest U.S. automaker said its auditors made a “going concern” ruling, meaning they are unsure the company will remain in business. GM also disclosed a “material weakness” in its accounting procedures. "
from bloomberg today!
GM will still be around after it's bankruptcy and restructuring. There will just be no more union or pensioner obligations and the workers will be making $15-$20 an hour.

I doubt they gave you $18900 (I know they didn't). I'm not sure if you did this or not, but it would be nice before we trade our Xs, that we give our PEEPS a chance to bid for it first. I'm guessing someone would have gladly given you at least what the dealer gave.
Actually, they didnt give me 18900 for trade in, thats what the internet price is listed for sale, they gave me 19000. ive bought 7new vehicles since 1980 and know how to negotiate a contract. as far as warranty service goes, oldsmobile is no longer mfg. and is covered under warrant by gm. as far as gm going out of buisnees, everyone even ford owners better pray that doesnt happen. as far as hummer hate i always wondered about it until i drove one to hate one is to want one is to not being able to afford one. it was time to get rid of the School bus for me.
Whoa there! I didn't say anything about hating Hummer... I Just don't see why anyone in there right mind would buy a Chrysler or GM product or even a Volvo (ford) right now with the future of the brand existence... Your resale value is gonna totally suck (as you indicate you get a new car every few years (7 since 1980)... I would have thought that would be a big concern. Yes its basically a chevy SUV on steroids but Hummer specific part may very well become hard to come by in the near future...
They should have just rolled hummer into the GMC truck lineup...
As for giving you 19K for the trade and then selling it for less than that. They are either making money somewhere on the car they sold you or the financing they gave you. Or they are under orders by the dealership owner to clear all inventory and then the dealer is gonna shutdown so they will take their money and run...
I am glad you are happy with your new vehicle, enjoy it... on a side note there is an H3 Yellow Cab running around Colorado Springs... It actually got its own newspaper article in the Local Paper

Welcome to the New World Order
And by God, that's the way it should be!!!!
Why should they be making $60 to $70 an hour in salary and benefits when most people are lucky to make one third of that! And yet the McDonalds burger flipper's taxes are used to bail them out and save their $60 to $70 dollar an hour job!

As long as you left the lot thinking you got a good deal..... that's all that matters!
Uhhh, just to clarify for those that think autoworkers make $60-$70 an hour... does that even seem plausible?? Do not just believe what ever you hear on the nightly news without checking things out for yourself. Just cause it's on TV doesn't make it truth or fact.
The Big three auto workers make around $30-$35 an hour... the foreign auto worker about $20-$25. The $60-$70 figure is a calculation basd on all the retiree's pension cost rolled over onto the actual people still working, therefore the newer players (Honda, Toyota etc) do not have the 'legacy' costs like Ford, GM and Chrysler do.
I do not work for the auto industry nor am I unionized, but the wage and benefits that you and I make are due to unions and what they have fought for. Please do not blame people that make a liveable wage for the woes of the auto industry. Thats like blaming overpaid tellers for the crisis in the banking industry. The mismanagement at the big three is legend and has been going on for decades.

Do you really think they are asking $100 LESS than what they "gave" you? Sorry, but no mater how good of a negotiator you are, they are NOT losing money on your trade. The money they showed you on the trade came from somewhere else.
Again, hopefully our FTE brothers and sisters would offer our beasts to our online buddies, as dealerships (at least most of them) would likely add their markups. Thanks.

Correct. One of two things usually happen.
#1- Hummer $55,000, minus $8,000 in discounts and rebates minus $10,900 trade in on Excursion.
or
#2- Hummer $55,000, minus $18,900 trade in.
The bottom line is the same, and the dealer has still made the same profit either way. You simply don't get both $8,000 in discounts and rebates, and a $18,900 trade in.
Having looked at a $53,000 2008 Suburban myself recently, I would have laughed all the way home had they given me full retail value for my Excursion trade in plus the $12,000 in rebates and discounts. And they would have rolled in the floor laughing if I had suggested it as my best offer to them.

Take it from a former salesman. VaSheriff has it right.
