Picture posting tips?

Picture posting tips?
Tried posting a pic of my '09 F-150, but it didn't work so well.
Questions:
A) My camera takes photo's that end up being 2 Megs +. If you want something smaller, do you make adjustments at the camera, or do you just edit the picture later?
B) I was using Geocities, but doesn't your email account also allow you to store pictures online?
As you guessed, I'm a bit of a picture posting "newb."

you can also google "photo compression software". i dowloaded a program called "ken ward's makeup". you just open up your pic with the program, resize, and post to your fte gallery. i think the moderators prefer that you post to your gallery(rather than photobucket) because the pics wont disappear from the thread later on.
