Replace or pull and bondo?

The driver side door on my 1988 f150 supercab has been smashed. It shuts and works ok, but it seems a bit “wrinkled.” Im gonna have the body work done and a repaint at the same time… Im sure any decent bodyshop can fix it, however, would it be cheaper for me to request that they replace the door shell? If seen the door shells on the net for $139. What would the labor be in the shop replacing the door shell; maybe I should do it my self. Whats the best way to comunicate this to the body shop guy?

Comments?
Thanks
DanS

Buy a door at a boneyard/junkyard. Those year doors are common place and could probably be had for less than $100 complete. Have the body shop repaint and your done.

I would avoid the bondo if I could.

Thanks... what years will work, is it only 88, or will 87 - 96 work?

Thanks again

80-86 are the same and 87-to 90 (don't quote me) are the same.
