Stock and Modded Boost Numbers...

I had a local Ford mechanic that works at the dealership on 7.3L and 6.0L only tell me that stock boost for a 7.3L is 13-15psi and even chipped, intake and exhaust he has never seen above about 21psi. Does that sounds right? I was under the impression that stock was around 18-21psi and modded could be up to 25-27psi. What numbers on the 38R and Van turbo? Just a thought, thanks guys.

Stock is more like 17psi.

Chipped, intake and exhaust I can easily hit 28 psi....maybe more, I don't really look at it (and it's been over 5 months since I've driven my 01 )

Been around, still posting....although more so in the SD forum lately it seems.

And you'd be correct, just a regular member now.

There is no way on stock sticks plain TS chip and a Garrett turbo need to check your boost gauge.

They guy is nuts, with the exception if you don't have a boost fooler device ?
In stock form if the MAP sees anything more than 17psi, it drops boost and sets overboost SES.
With a regulator or something, you will get more. I get over 20# with no issue. Towing up a grade, I can easily get over 30#

I was getting 30+, stock turbo and sticks. With DP-TUNER of course. Now with the TN BB and SS Stage II's, the last time I looked I was at 33#, I think I can do 35#. I watch the egt gauge more.

I've only got a wicked wheel in my stock turbo, with the water meth it'll hit 32-33# but I wont let it go higher with the meth b/c I havent done headstuds yet and I dont want to take a chance. And I leave the WG line on for the same reason
