Noise when in 4x4

Noise when in 4x4
There is a humming or whuring noise coming from the front end when I go into 4x4. It is intermittent and seems more pronounced when under torque.
No vibration.
ESOF not working. Using manual lock.

It helped when my OEM hubs were sticking and may help with your issue. I didn't have the humming sound though. Just a thought.

I think when I do get into that I'm just going to do the whole smash... uJoints, seals, bearings... everything I can get at while I'm in there and its torn down.

I had a slight humming in mine a while back and it ended up being the knuckle seal that failed. They had put the thrust washer back in the wrong place and it ate the seal up nicely. That with no yellow o-ring and ESOF definitely didnt work!
