power with key off
I have a 02 Crewcab the other day the batteries were real weak so I charged them up had the alt checked everything was ok. Noticed when i shut the truck down got out that the power locks did not work. turns out with the keys out power windows work radio work but i can not lock the truck with the key fob or power locks switch. Keys are out doors opened and closed multiple times still have power like the keys are in the ignition. any ides

Does it stay that way all the time? What I mean is that mine stays on for like 10 mins or until I open the door. Does your overhead light come on when you open the door? Maybe the truck doesn't know you opened your door. But if it's staying on all the time, that might not be it.

unhook the batteries, test again, if the same problem there is a VSM that might have gone bad, or you ignition switch went south. when you pull your key out and open the door you radio should stop working. do you have overhead light turn on when you open the door? if not the switch in you driver side door is stuck in a close position so untill your alarm senses that you exited vehicle wont allow you to use fob, so you wont lock yourself out. spray some WD40 in you DS door lock in every hole you can see and shut the door few times , see if this helps...

thanks i will try that tomorrow. we got alot of wind and snow last week and some warm temps and refreezes Hopefully that simple Thanks eveyone

Pull the igition lock ( turn ignition to run position and push up in the hole in the colum under the ignition lock with a pocker to release it) and check the contact (plastic thing pigggybacked on the lock)
