PMS finally hit me.....

ever since i got my truck i swore i would keep it stock. but you all have rubbed off on me lol. ill be pulling the tranny in a few months to rebuild it and will be putting a new clutch in too. that will be the perfect opportunity to put in a 3" dp and take out the cat. theres no sense in having all that extra air space with nothing to go through it...... here are the mods i am thinking about. feel free to offer advice.

tw chip-do i send him my stock chip for him to reprogram it or does he send me a brand new chip? im getting over 21-22 mpg right now and i would like to have a back up chip in case the tw one kills my mileage.

stage 1 injectors-how do these compare to stock, mileage wise, if you run it on the stock setting on the chip? how much more power would i be looking at with stage 1's over keeping the stock injectors? how different will the driveability be between stage 1's and stock?

6.0 intercooler-depends on how the egt's are after the mods. my main question here is about boost, or lack there of. how much will running the 50 feet of intake cut down on your boost pressure? this is a mod that id rather not do unless i have to, because i would think that even though it drops the egt's it would also drop your boost pressure considerably. which goes against trying to make more power.

assuming a 225hp and 425tq rating stock, id like to get it up to about 300hp and 550-600tq and still maintain good mileage. any thoughts?

There is no stock chip. He just sends you one and you plug it in your PCM.

Stage I's will run better and you might not loose that much MPG if you stay out of it. That will be hard to do just trust me on this...You will see.

6.0 cooler will only drop boost 2 psi. I doubt it will drop as much as 3psi.

When you remove the tranny definately and I mean DEFINATELY replace the uppipe donuts. $22.00 and very easy compared to $22.00 and an awful lot of cussing and bloody knuckles. Trust me on this.

my main concern about the mileage is that i drive my truck out of town for work a lot and i get paid mileage. usually around 1-2k miles per month. so that adds up over the course of a year. i hadnt thought about the uppipe, but thanks for the tip. i just want to get as much done to it while ive got the room to do it.

the guy that owned it before me ran nothing but off road in it since the day he got it home. and that was about 175k miles. ive heard off road is really bad for the cats and will clog them up. so that needs to be fixed. ive got a really bad exhaust leak where the downpipe hooks to the turbo too. so i cant very well have both ends of the downpipe unhooked and not put a bigger one in there.....
