Just noticed that the doors on drivers side do not line up. What brought this to my attention was that the rubber seal on the door frame started to rub off. I guess I was to excited when I pickup the truck, I did not see this. I have had it a couple of months now and have 1,900 miles on it.
My question is can they fix this? I looked at the doors and can't see an adjustment.
I have seen many new vehicles of all makes with misaligned doors, hoods, and trunk lids. It is hard sometimes to make a perfect fit every time. It is worthwhile to look at things like these when buying a new vehicle. For the most part, just the look of it will bug ya if you know about it. Always look at fit and finish on a vehicle: You will always see differences when they are parked side-by-side.
Ever see the back of a new Sunfire? Look at the gaps between the vertical part of the trunk lid and the tailights. I have yet to see even gaps on both sides! But, I guess that is just GM.

Ford started it; Ford will finish it!
Bob, I plan on taking it back. It's pretty bad I can't beleave we did not see it. Front door and back door may have 1/8" between the two at the top and 3/4" at bottom. This caused the rubber seal along the inside bottom of door to tear and that is whay I noticed it. I am sure they will attempt to fix it. I guess when I bought it all I wanted was the keys.
unfortunatly it may not have been that bad when you bought it. the crew cab expedition and excursion bodies have a lot of flex in them. anything that long has a lot of flex in it. the metal in the newer vehichles is not as heavy as the older ones and that means not as strong. the cab on my 78 crew cab weighs about twice as much as the cab on my 97. the doors on my 97 have been adjusted probably 10 or 15 times. the doors on my 78 havebeen adjusted 4 or 5 times. they both have well over a hundred thou on them and the 78 body is in better shape than the 97.
