I am installing a new shift shaft and having problems with getting the park pawl back into place. It doesnt want to go back into the parking gear hole.
Yes I was. I have the Detent attached to the rod and I cant get the detent into place for the shaft sleeve because it wont go deep enough into the gear hole.
Im about to go to the junk yard and start pulling one apart just so I can get a better understanting of how these trannys work. I dont know what the problem is. Ive ran into this before but only with GM models and never had a problem getting it back into place. Like you said spin the tail shaft but it isnt working on this one.
