I am needing some help with a 6" skyjacker lift i am going to install on my 01 F 250 super duty. I would like to install this myself but i dont have a area to do it. If I need to pay someone does anyone know of a good place to have it installed at? any help I can get with this is appreciated.
Oh yeah... kind of forgot that when I was thinking about that earlier.. I was thinking we could make it happen with some of the pointy toed people, but the whole drive shaft thing... makes a difference.
4x4land in Topeka has been known to do quality work, don't know if they are expensive, just know people say they are good. On the other hand, depending on what lift kit you have and how complete it is, and how much bolt on stuff there is, the pointy toed people around here are very capable.
I dont remember the kit #.The kit that I got has new shocks, leaf springs front & rear, sway bar extensions ,track bar relocation bracket. I was told that I would not need to do anything with the drive shaft until I went higher than 8 " of lift.
would letting the air out of the tires help? what about taking the wheels off of the front, and putting the front on a floor jack, then using the jack to roll it out.
We have been having some nice weather down this way. If it's the base kit and not the coil over kit it shouldn't take more than a day. Just the regular stuff with spring eye bolts and the instructions I looked at I just saw one bracket that needed some cutting or grinding and a hole that needed to be drilled. Just wait for a nice day and do it outside. I'd check the spring eye bolts ahead of time and soak them with PB blaster to make sure they will come out. If they need to be cut out then you can get replacements ahead of time.
Yep, I did mine in the garage but outside would have been so much better (except it was something like 4 degrees outside when I did mine, so I put up with the small problems that the garage presented for the obvious benefit of not freezing to death.
Should be getting pretty nice here in the near future, I think I would do it outside.
