I bought a truck with a salvaged restored title. No problem with insurance. Insurance pays 80% if wrecked or stolen I paid less than 50% KBB. I brought a mechanic with me to look at the truck we couldn't find anything wrong so I took it home.
i worked at a dealer in the early 90's and we had a mes of auction cars from flooded mississippi they were sent to another state to "dry out" (clear title)
cleaned real good but full of gremlins .pull seat belt all the way- red clay from the mighty miss river
wont forget those days

I think I bought one of those with the red clay, never really had any problems with it though.
It is interesting that you mention the right side. I googled the VIN and if you pull up the google cache for the auction house that sold it has the vehicle listed as having right side damage...
Well, this is interesting. Not only does it apparently have out of place parts, there is some damage after all. There is also some reference in the auction information referenced above to flood damage. Seems now that the ad is misleading.
Become a member, a supporter- go to the top of the page, click on Misc, click Club FTE, read the description of the benefits and at the top of that page there's a tab "Join"- 3 year membership is only $60 and I have gotten knowledge here that far surpasses what that's worth. PLUS you get a cool T-shirt and a groovy FTE decal. Oh among other things you get that sweet blue box next to your name. The site and knowledge are free, but it helps to support this site so it's around for a long time.
