I noticed a few days ago that when I turn I am getting a hissing noise at the drivers side firewall when I turn the steering wheel but it goes away when I step in the brake. Has anyone ever had this issue and if so what was it that was causing it? I have checked the powersteering and brake fluid and they are both fine. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Could it be just your power steering pump making it's normal noise when you've turned the steering wheel all the way? If not, check vacuum lines near Brake boost/master cylinder.
That's where your hydro booster is mounted and like the others are pointing to, it uses fluid from the power steering pump. ATF and not power steering fluid. Might be a good time for a fluid flush.
The only time it goes away is when I press on the brake while turning. It does not go away when the truck is warmed up. But if I am just cruising down the road with only a little turning it is ok. It is not coming from the powersteering pump but from the hydro booster on the fire wall.
