Talking Aod

Ok here goes it
I went a bought a 1990 E150 for the motor and trans for my 1985 F150 was told it was a plug and play swap( ha ha) well its not both 5.0 both door jam trans code is T
the 90 trans has at the speedo the cable and a place to plug wires in too
the 85 onl has the speedo gear no wires
when cking on line it say that the 90 shold be a AOD but Im thinking its a AODE both van and truck had on the shifter PRN( D) 21
so is there any way to make the 90 trans work like gut it and swap it in to the 85 case or some way to make it work just the way it is I really need to get this back on the road asap
If I had know someone give me bad info on it i would have pulled the 90 wireing and stuff( I did pull the computer though) rest of the van has been crushed all ready
sorry for this being long and thanks for any help

There are wires for the neutral safety switch. There are also wires for the vehicle speed sensor, in the '90 it was used for cruise control, maybe for the speedometer, I can't remember that far back.

If you pull the electronic assembly off the speedometer gear, you will find the exact same part that is on your 85. The VSS just pulls off. We pulled the gear out of a 91 van and after pulling the VSS off the gear, it fit in the cable from a 55 T-bird which we also found had the same end as a late 60's ford truck. I am pretty sure it will fit in your 85.
