Rear window seal is leaking

Do a search on here buddy, this is a common topic on the threads. Personally, I used black silicone and caulked neatly all around the window seal and third brake light. Many times the 3rd light is the culprit. Cost $5 and very simple, 3 years with no leaks. Good luck...

the plastic cover you see around the back window is only for decoration. i used the silicon as stang did, but still had a leak a year later. the problem is the window buytle seal ring, not the plastic decoration. you need to go inside the truck and pull off the window piller plastick, then pull the head liner down 4-5 inches, and fold te seat forward and take the trim off below the window. ther are 10-12 studs with small nuts, maybe 10mm on the window frame that stick thru the cab wall. take the nuts off and push the window and frame out into the bed. the plastic outside cover can stay. go to Auto Zone and get the repair kit which is about 15 ft of 3/8 diameter buytle rope sealer and replace it. it forms into place like clay. with the window out, you will get the idea.
