I scrap cars, does anyone know what items from vehicles have worth? I keep mass air flow sensors, alternators and whatever is easy to get loose. I get lots of Fords, few imports and gms. Can I get some ideas?
The heads off the modulars would be worth some money since they tend to spit plugs and people need replacements. 2000-2003, especially '03, are what you'd want to keep off of trucks. One thing I have been looking for forever is the radio surround bezel out of F150's '97-'03. Many of us hack them up to add switches then need a good replacement if we ever trade the truck in. There are a good 3 or 4 different versions out there and I can never find the one I need. Not sure how involved you want to get but seats can always be good to have also.

60 is closer to the number of versions when you factor in all the various colors which were only used for a certain number of years, then replaced by other colors later on.
List the specifics, I'll look and see what is still available from Ford, then search the dealer locator and obsolete parts locator systems to see whether the part is available..or not. Then will post the info.
I will need the trucks TRIM code to find the correct color, unless it's black.

Sometimes it depends on the types of cars.
If you have any V8 Fox Chassis Mustangs with mass air, I'd sell the mass air set up in a kit. Guys are always converting from speed density and need all of the mass air parts. There is the computer (note if it is for an automatic or stick), harnesses, mass air meter, duct work and brackets.
Good point! Some stuff is best sold as scrap metal and other stuff as good used stuff. You could watch places like Ebay to see what kind of prices and traffic your parts could bring.
Catalytic converters are worth a lot for scrap money!
I sold a couple on ebay awhile back, got a pretty penny for them too.
I have tried to buy used catalytic converters from New York State Registered salvage yards and have been told by more than one that it is illegal to sell them.
I guess that makes private sales even more valuable.
