Dodge Cruise Control

Anybody know anything about these? I have 2001 Stratus and the cruise control quit working. Got any ideas on how to fix?

Not enough info.

we need to know what the symptoms are. All of a sudden, or flakey for awhile etc? Is the car doing anything else? Check engine lights? Speedo working OK?

Could be almost anything. First thing I would check is fuses and vacuum hoses. Also check the linkage from the Cruise control system to the throttle, could be something as easy as a broken cable or linkage. Could just be a dirty linkage needing cleaning and a lube.

Other than my general recommendations I know nothing about a Stratus so can't help much more than this.

Good Luck,

Jim Henderson

You might try allpar.com. It's a pretty good site -- just not as good as FTE

Check alldata.com for any recall or SB info first. This can often point to the problem before you start a hands on detailed diagnostic...If you dont have a sevice manual I would get one. Unless you really need the cruise I would just forget it and save the money and time.

It still works sometimes, it is tempermental. Now a new problem, the climate fan control doesn't work. It is constantly on at a speed slower than "1" even in the off position. I will also not change where the air comes out of.

Just a WAG, here. . . .
Are you confusing the "Cruise Control" for the "Climate Control"???

If not. . . you've got me totally confused.

ETA: Just saw "Now a new problem. . ."

What the heck. I'm still confused.

OK, sorry my posts have been a little short. First the Cruise Control started flaking out, sometimes works, sometimes doesn't. Then the Climate Control fan took a crap. Since my last post the fan doesn't work at all now. It's Florida and it's almost summer. Help!
