Any reason the two parts should be different? Scrounging for a black CPS to carry as a spare and I come across one on Ebay advertised as 94-96 only. Here is the link, part number is F4TZ12K073C.
IIRC that's the newest version but....
If I'm not mistaken there is virtually no difference between all of them except for the coating on the electrical pins. They went to gold plated pins trying to solve the CPS debacle.

That's not a bad price. You might be able to get it cheaper from the dealership. Is this for your 99? You might be able to one under warranty...free.
I've got a gray one... it's a spare and will stay that way. Black one is in the motor, I just want a good black one as a spare because as I'm sure you know, the gray one has a less than stellar reputation.
Ford and IH are all out of the black ones now... only selling gray.
