If you've already got gauges installed then you won't save much time by using those wires, just poke your single wire through the hole you drilled for the gauges.
That's what I did! Btw, who did that second writeup...that guy is good
The other handy thing I use it for is when I DON'T have to WTS. After you drive to town and go in the store and come back out why stare at the WTS light when the GPR isn't even on!?! Light the fire!

Good point. I have an aftermarket voltmeter that tells me when the GPR goes out but a light would make thing just that much easier. My light is going in this weekend.

Yeah who is that guy... we should thank him at some point
Guys, if you are going to put the LED on your A-Pillar, use a smaller light. You sure don't want a super bright LED staring you in the face for that period of time at night. I used red (indicating heat) and it is driving me crazy. I'll retask that light and move the GPR light out of direct line of sight.
After having my GPR go out this winter, I bought all the stuff to do the mod so it doesn't catch me again. Really hated getting a jump from a DirtyMax.

It's a super easy mod if yo have the stuff lying around. Maybe took me an hour or so on Saturday while I was watching the Busch race on TV.
I didn't get to it this weekend so it's going in next weekend. I'm going to take a little longer to do it though, cause I want to be **** about it and run the wire from the GPR in the factory harness so I don't just have a random wire strung across the motor. But since I've got the top of the motor off and the wire loom opened up, it won't take long.

Call me picky, CAUSE I AM!!!
You can do mine that way at live tuning if you want...
That might work, but my fee is pretty steep!! I don't know if you can afford my pickiness. Heck, I can't afford my pickiness!!
OT, but great news by the way... pulling a small snowmobile trailer w/2 sleds on it at 20 psi I'm getting surge on my stock early 99 "non-surging" turbo. I can't even afford my own pickiness, much less yours!
Got the wires ran and led installed this weekend. Installed really easily and looks decent too. Put the light in the upper pod on my pillar. I'll get pics uploaded within a few days. I hit the key the first time and guess what, no light. I'm thinking, did I not get it grounded right, so I rechecked all my connections and ran a separate ground wire (instead of tapping into the gauge ground wire). Still nothing. Checked fuse and it wasn't blown.
I figured I'd screwed something up cause I cycled the key 3 or 4 times to get it to light. Then on the last time I hit the key, I heard the GPR click and the light came on and stayed on for quite a while. Truck fired right up. After driving it around yesterday in 10-15* weather, it appears my relay is only working intermittently. Sometimes immediately, sometimes not at all, sometimes the second or third try. Last night I was leaving a friends house, truck had been sitting for 3 hours or so and temp was 4 degrees. First time, no light and truck wouldn't fire. Second time, light came on, I waited 1 minute or so, then hit the key and she fired right up.
Is this common for a GPR to work intermittently like this?
