I reversed my driver's side one so they now both point to the center to give more room under the dash. You can't just turn it around since they are a shallow crecent shape where they meet the dash.

on my 55 the driver side faces away from you and the passenger one faces to the left. I need to modify the driver side because it is blocking my speedo cable.

I was thinking of doing that Chuck, did you have much problems reversing the shape so it fit. I'm at the stage where I'm trying to get all the little things out of the way, this being one of them. I'd like to purchase an AC unit this year and get my dash extension and console taken care of, as well as the wiper motor, gauges and controls. I'll soon have the body in high build primer but not in a hurry for colour in case there is something left that might bite me.

Well I did it the hard way, working the mounting flange to reverse it's shape since I did it before I bought my mig. If I were to do it again I'd remove the flange either by drilling out the welds or cutting it off the top of the "funnel" portion, turning it 180 and putting it back together. That would be a lot easier.
