Idiots are on the loose. Two days in a row bomb threats have been called in to Kirkwood college ( or about them anyway) so that is getting tiresome. I got interviewed by the local TV about it... cost me class time today, group work time yesterday... hope they catch the idiot that is responsible, friggin jagoff...
Bomb threats at a college? Wow... spring must be here, huh? Have'nt heard one of those since way back, and then it was in a high school, not college.
They'd be in a world of hurt if they do get caught... the powers that be tend to look at this sort of "harmless prank" as an act of terrorism nowadays.
SCC used to get a bomb threat every MLK day. They finally gave up and started taking the day off. The hypocrisy always floored me - calling in threats of violence on a day celebrating a pacifist!?!
I wish someone would turn off the fans.... getting really tired of pulling these 53' sails. Yeah I know spring time in Iowa. And at least I am working again for the most part but still

I hear you Monster. We started putting on gas today, but sounds like a good chance for rain tomorrow night and sunday. We are at that time of year where there is a 4 day window to get stuff done.

It just may be me, but does it seem like CR has been in the News a lot Lately...
just had a friend of mine hang himself. this is the third one in less than a year. there must be something in the water here.
just finished loading out the last of our god forsaken hogs out of the 2 worst sites we have. all 4 have PRRS. im just glad i dont have to do chores or powerwash anymore. we got the idiot who wants to get married to do that.
going to Apple River tomorrow to get drunk and see some boobies. should be a good time. they had a lot of fun last year and plan to again this year. the concerts should be amazing as well. i just hope i can get the Ranger fixed in a day to take that up there.
Sorry to hear about the friends, starting to remind me of the 80's if that is becoming the norm... Been working my tail off between work, school, and trying to keep up the maintenance my dad and sister keep making... still have one tractor torn down because of a big hole in the block. Welded a patch over it, now just got to get time to reassemble it with new crank, sleeves, and pistons. Still in process of getting the manual put in the 92 behind the Cummins, found out the spacer for the shifter didn't come with it, so I guess I'll have to figure out how to fabricate one.
My sympathy for your friends and their families, John... I found out this morning that a friend I went to school with died yesterday. Not sure the circumstances, but bad news at any rate. I used to help him put up hay for his dad... they ran a good-sized dairy operation, which there's not many of in this part of the state.
Not much doing here. Rainy weather has been holding up field work some, but not as bad as people were predicting, I think. I'm still laid off from my town job, but not worried about it much. The only thing that really bothers me about it is that now I have to buy my own health insurance, but even that's not a huge concern. I have a relative in the insurance business who found me a decent policy to tide me over until I get back to work. Pretty soon my biggest problem will be that there's not much to do... although I suppose if I looked over my house and buildings long enough, I could find something that needed repaired.
