thats true for the f-250 hd. but there is also a light duty obs truck that is totally different than the light duty 97 model. from what im finding it was only with the reg cab, 300 6 cyl, 4x2 though. i know a guy that had one, saw it with my own eyes, rode in it, etc.

yes, they called it an f-150. that is the only truck with a semi floating axle. if ford made it i would have the manual for it, or i would be able to call the ford dealer and get parts for it, there is no such truck. ford never made an old body style "LD" truck. if you have documentation on this truck i would like to see it as that would be a very rare unheard of peice

Quite the discussion, I didn't mean to stir things up. I feel I got my question answered, thanks! Now I'll just go and change my diaper, I mean my pinion seal, and take a warm bath to wash my rear end lol.

The only difference of significance is that a SRW has lug centric wheels and a DRW has hub centric wheels. The rear brake is bigger too, but then if you put disk brakes on the back end, you'll have better braking than the DRW.

"they" did have different axles for 3/4 ton, one ton and one ton DRW.

well someone needs to tell the guy i worked with that someone put a 250 badge on a 150, changed the vin number, and then sold it to him. and someone also needs to tell napa and the ford dealer i buy parts from that it doesnt exist either, because both of them carry parts for it. oh, and this is from auto zones website.
