I desperatly need help on this subject of how to remove the windshield mouldings, on a 1965 F100 Custom Cab, from the rubber windshield weatherstrip without destroying the mouldings themselves. As always any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
Bill
You might try asking this question in the 1961-1966 truck forum? You'd get a quicker response from the guys that are more familiar with your year truck.
Are you replacing the windshiled or the rubber? If so, just cut it out with a utility knife.
If your seal is plyable, you can remove the entire winshield from inside out by pushing from the inside out and rolling the seal over the lip by hand. This takes two people and about an hour and once removed, the trim will pop right out.
If the seal is dry and brittle, you will have to cut it out and replace it. While the trim is out, have it polished by a pro and you will love the results.
Your windshield will not hold properly if you remove the moulding and leave the groove open.
