aha, now we are getting somewhere - you must be using something that is generating the FTEpartsguy price....Id like to use that and order from him one of each in left hand - but here is the $64,000 question: does your catalog list the left handed drive gear in 6 tooth? right now I got 7 and i want to eventually correct, but given the reduction rate of my speedo, Im never gonna hit it with a 7-left.
come spring I plan to drop Mr SROD for a new clutch and perhaps some bearings/seals and while off will remove the tailshaft for the drive gear....
thanks Bill!
(I also realize the ultra rare 23T gear will correct, but the gear does not live very long - I read they are good for perhaps 10K miles?)

Does my parts catalog list a 6 tooth drive gear?
Does a bear **** in the woods?
Is Ford stock selling for less than 2 bucks?
Next,...you'll prolly want me to swing on by and install it.
I'll look it up later, it's lunch time here in LA LA Land, time for a break from FTEville.
btw: Just type FTEpartsguy.com to see what I see.
Get your own parts catalog, then you can check everything.
And if you look up the wrong part, better not let me hear about it!
Great....NOW you guys get into this discussion, AFTER I bought a right hand gear off of ebay. Well, guess I'll just sell it again....
Hey, at least I know I need it now, BEFORE I try to install it....
To save myself further "oh sh**", can one of you confirm that I need a 16t gear? I have a 7 tooth driver gear, 3.25 gears, 29" tall tires (Measured from ground to center of wheel, x2)
29ish tires are 235s? 3.25 is less than my 3.55. so using me as a baseline...if you had 17/7 and a 2.47 - the 3.25 gears are a 32% increase, and the 235s back it off 4% over the 215tires in my baseline.
28%
so if you had a 17/7 then a 21 toother will give you 3% speedo error.
swap to 6 tooth drive like I need to and 18-20 is a new range for greater flexibility
Bill,
You are exactly right. I just called the neighborhood ford dealer, and gave them a part number I found on the internet for a roller for the window regulator, C0AB6423240B.(The truck is a 66, but I got a motor and trans from an 83) The first guy I talked to said it was "an engineering number". I found another location that had the same number, minus the second "0", so I called back, and got a different guy. Gave him the new number, and said "Hmm, looks like it's missing a number, is that a roller for a window regulator?" I told him yes, and the missing number was a "0", and he said "Yup, got it in the warehouse, I cabn have it here tomorrow".
BTW, I got the 16T speedo gear, but the speedo reads a little fast, so I also ordered the 17T gear while I was at it. It reads about 64 at 60, so I figured:
(64 \ 17) x 16 = 60.23 = Close enough.
