Yah, no kiddin - I was looking up a U-haul for towing an '80s F100 and U-haul told me my truck ain't heavy enough to haul said F100 - nevermind they didn't even ask whether I have SRW or DRW, tow package or not, what gears I have, and so on. So 17000 lbs GCVW minus 7000 lbs towing truck leaves 10k for the loaded trailer, subtract 4000 for the F100 and it turns out the trailer itself can be as heavy as 6k, which neither of theirs is... So yah, if they still bitch and whine when I call them, I think that F100 will morph into a Ranger real quick
When towing a frame hitched trailer with a 4.10 axle, is the manual rated 3000 lbs less than the automatic because the manual is weaker or is rated less because of gearing issues?
