I have a 2000 exepedito EB and i have to use it to tow my boat for the first time this year. I was reading somewhere that before towing, i would need to turn off the air suspension? how true is this and does it apply to me, and how do i do this if i even need to...thanks in advance
I read in the manual that you turn off the air suspension before hooking to the trailer and when the trailer is connected to turn it back on. This helps keep the load leveler from being confused.
I tow with my 97 EB and you must turn off the air before hooking up the trailer than turn it back on once you are hooked up. you find the switch on the pass. side kick panel it should say "air Suspension" on the top of the panel.
Well either im a complete moron (cause i cannot find the switch to save my life) or i dont have air suspension. I towed the boat last weekend anyhow cause it had to be moved.....dont think i broke anything cause the car rides fine still.......
The easiest way to know if you have load leveling air suspension is to crawl under the tail end and have a look up at her. You will see either coil spings or what apear to be giant shocks with air bags wrapped around them (Black, approx 8" dia x 10" high)
Also if you have auto load leveling, you will have, or should have noticed your truck make clicking sounds (as solenoid valves release air to lower the suspension) or vibrating humm (as compressor adds air pressure to raise the suspension) when ever a heavy items (including passengers) are loaded or unloaded
