try GALLS. just curious but why would you want one? if you are going to install a monitor check the law to make sure its legal. in La it is illegal to have a television forward of the back of the front seat.
A Dash cam in not a televsion, but a recording devise. It is good to do two things, and one is monitor drivers habits, and in the event of a traffic collision, it shows who is at fault. In california, we have a lot of staged accidents, and being in the towing business, we are always a target.
I made something similar to what you are looking for but up above. After searching for a reasonably priced camera mount- I decided to make my own. I installed an overhead console and stabilized the center section by making a couple brackets to screw into where the sun visors used to clip to. I found a couple of adjustable cell phone mounts at a local surplus place for $5 each. Here is the same cell phone mount that you can buy online- http://www.sciplus.com/recommend.cfm?recommendid=263&jump=search.cfm?term s=mount
I made a flat 1/4" thick acrylic rectangle bracket and mounted my camera to that, then mounted the bracket to two of the cell phone mounts and then bolted them to my overhead console. So far so good- videos look like an episode of COPS ;-)
I have the camera plugged into my AC inverter so I don't have to worry about draining batteries. My camera has a flip-out LCD screen so I can see what the camera sees. I highly recommend you get a camera with the anti-jitter function so the picture will be relatively stable.
Hope this helps,
Dustin Siebert
