Hey guys im looking at some custom wheels for my 92 and I am wondering what wheel offset some of you guys are running. The truck is soon to get a 2/4 or a 3/5 drop. I am thinking about running a 20x8.5 with a 10mm offset. What do you guys think? What are you using?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
Anyone? I know from what I have read that some of you guys dont like big wheels but I would take any advice on wheel size and offset. I am new to the ford scene (former chevy man) and I am wanting to make sure I get the offset correct.
Cant say much about the wheels.. I run 15s .. But did the 2-4 drop...Worked nice..Once you get the wheels & tires on there you will be able to see how much you want to lower it... I run 15s because we race the truck ..Lew
Hey lew52, Your truck is sweet. Do you have any bigger pictures of it. I like 15 or 16 inch wheels better anyway.
I can't say about offset, but with your truck it shouldn't be much of a problem. It just depends how much you want them to stick to past the fender or not at all. Since your going custom wheels, don't go bigger than 17 or 18 tops. Anything bigger just looks wierd on our older trucks, since the wheel wells aren't that big like the new ones. If you want 17 or 18 inch wheels, maybe someone in the Lightning forum can tell you what the back spacing is on 1st Gen 17 or 2nd Gen 18 inch wheels is.
I just saw some more of you pictures. That is awesome. What does it run the 1/4 in?
You should get a 1st Gen Lightning instrument cluster with the 120 speedo. I have one in my truck. Just get one from a 94 or 95 so it will work properly.

The trucks running low 14s now with out nitrous..Thats not bad for a 302 truck with no forced induction....We started to spray the NOS system last weekend but started to lose fuel preasure so had to shut it down... Fuel pump wont keep up..So now we have to upgrade our fuel system... Ya i would like to have the 120 speedo.. this one just pegs out when we run it..But doesnt seem to hurt it..Lew
