I have no problems but only have ~5k miles on them so not enough time for a problem to develop. With the spacer, the wheel/tire is in approximately the same position in terms of where the wheel tracks under the vehicle. I can't see it being an issue with bearing wear any more than just putting oversize/heavier tires on the stock rims. I have the steel spacers which are pretty heavy. If I were doing it again, I might buy the aluminum. I do plan to tow so I thought the steel might be better. Now, I wonder if it even matters.
I have no lift but its a low mileage excursion, probably less spring sag than some. I think the stock tires are around 31.5 inches in diameter and these are slightly over 34 inches. I did have some scrub on the right and left fenders at full turn. Drilled a couple holes and used zip ties to pull the fender wells back an inch or so. Also had to heat the left one and press the plastic back a little extra. 10 minutes tops for all that. The other issue is that the stock wheel studs are slightly longer than the 2" spacers. I ended up using a grinder to take off ~2mm of the front studs. (do this before you put the spacers on) Did not have to grind to where the threads start so that was not an issue at all. Tires are slightly louder than stock. Also I think I get a little less mpg's but have not calibrated the speedometer so the ~1-2mpg less I'm noticing may be closer to 0-1.0mpg loss.
I may do the spring swap to get the truck up an inch and a half but don't need it for anything other than looks.
thanks for the info. when you say you cut the studs before the spacer goes on was there a problem with the threads? Also I have access to the 20" Harley wheels I thiink these should look nice also. 34" is around a 275/65/20?? Also I assume the getting a leveling kit for the front would raise it 2"?? Thanks again for your time. Mike
What is the center bore measurement of the oem 20" wheel?? I have someone making a set of adapters hubcentric and they need this measurement. didnt know if anyone knew it off hand. thanks
ya but the $640 price tag is a bit steep but i guess i know they will be right. instead of saving a few bucks and not having the right ones shipped the 1st time or breaking something.
went with the aluminum, lighter and still strong. I love these wheels it makes the truck. looks awesome, even better in person. did you guys recalibrate your speedo or how far is it off. I have the stock 275/65/20 wranglers also. thanks also i zipped tied the inner fenders back a bit so it doesnt rub. how often should you check the lugs??
$640 SHIPPED @ WHEELADAPTERS.COM dont bother shopping cuz I did and found only 1 company that would make them and it was only 60 bucks less and they had no phone # to reach them at. Fred will take care of you quickly and does answer his phone. Completely satisfied.
