87 F50 updates,discoveries and progress thread..Ongoing

Well today gave me the opertunity to get a better look and some things made me happy some things pissed me off. Things that pissed me off

Thats the extent of the s**t that pissed me off notice how perfect that fuse cover was before those little **stards chewed it up???? I think it'd be unrealistic of me to expect to find one with the Decal that mint condition like this one was or do ya'll think it's possible. the second picture shows a huge clump of Rat or Mouse s**t on the passengers side to the extent the door was partially glued shut with it. Third picture shows all the crap they dragged into my Truck and shredded not to mention they ripped all the plastic film off the bottom of the seat and tore up the padding under there. 4th. either my idiot Uncle or his Buddy broke that G D door handle off on the inside,AND somebody stoled the stereo/AC control bezel.

Ok now on to the good news. I've fixed the Vacuum line that I found chewed through.discovered none of the wiring under the truck was chewed through or damaged. Discovered that the front tanks empty now so dropping it will be easy although only to disconnect it's wiring harness. rear tank has some 8 year old Gas in it and will have to be dropped cleaned/dried/new sending unit installed/then the whole thing put back in place.. I'm planning on pulling the seat completely out of the truck in order to check the extent of damage and make it easier to clean the interior out and remove the floor padding to see if theres any substancial rust or if it's only surface Rust yes there will be pictures of this stuff for now the only other pictures are these

on the last picture the red vacuum line was the one chewed through that I fixed. questions are whats the unplugged port suppose to run too And whats the capped off hose on the right in the back supposed to go to???

Thats sucks about the damage. At least its not worse than that. You can get a door handle in the HELP section at most autoparts stores for less than 10 bucks.

I don't know about the vacuum lines. I can't remember what it looked like on my old inline 6. Maybe the one that isn't hooked up goes to the PCV valve. Is that connected? All I see to the right is a vacuum hose that isn't hooked up to anything.

Why would they drill holes in the bumper to tow it? I guess maybe for a tow bar. Maybe they were going to put a brushguard on it.

Are they just holes? Are they at least symmetrical? If so, you could mount fog lights or a push bar or something to it.

You could put a wanted ad on craigslist for a front bumper. You can probably get a used one fairly cheap. Or just look on craigslist to see if someone is selling one.

Yeah but I like the look of the plain bumper I'll get a picture shortly of the holes those morons drilled into it. the Think that pisses me off though is these brain dead morons hauled the mustang on a 10 wheeled Trailer but decided to drill holes to haul the 87 not to mention they didn't disconnect the drive shaft so hopefully they didn't screw up my C6 transmission with their stupidity....................what area of Tx are you in???

mucho mas pictures

ok the First 10 are of the engine and the chewed wires

These 5 are of the passengers side and theres two of the door the first one shows the damage to the door specifically the pulled out anchors and the second similar picture shows the size the holes should be by including the top holes for the mirror, for comparison

my Mother and brother did this to my truck when they used it without my permission and yes I was pissed off

this shows the position of the bed and how it lines up in relation to the cab and the question about this issues the 2nd. picture down from here

this is the full drivers side picture here

this shows how the Beds not lining up right with the cab just look at the pin stripeing. and my Question about that is Does this mean my Frames Bent if so I don't see how it happened because the trucks never been wrecked or rolled over. and if it isn't bent then why the difference between the left and right side bed Heighth in relation to the cab the passengers side appears to be lower in relation to the cab compared to the drivers side

This one shows some of the damage to the drivers side fender.

This one shows the oxidation of the paint and how bad it looks.

This one shows the Damage a massive limb did the the cab it would have been 100% worse if not for the Headache Rack and notice the Headache Racks undamaged??? My Grandfather was an AWSOME Welder!!!!!

This is the first of two pictures showing the dents to the top front of the cab that occured while it was at numb nutz property

Hey have you been able to bring the paint back? When I got my pickup (same colors as yours see pic below) it belonged to a railroad engineer who would only drive it to the railyard and then disappear on trains for months at a time. Between the acid rain every now and then, and the brake dust from the railroad cars going by, the paint has died very much like that, and when I try to wax or anything, it just gets powdery blue on my terry towels. I think the only way to get through it is to power through with a buffer, but then I can make my way through the paint into the cream colored base (i did this on the bed of mine).....Anyways, if you have found a way to bring that paint back, please let me know.....thanks

DAMN Man!!!!! That looks like GT on steroids!!!!!! and a question for you!?!?!?!? how does it have the EFI Variant of the 351W they were supposed to be Carbureted in 87???? did you swap the carbureted engine for the EFI engine???? What sorta fuel economy do you get with that motor????...........As to bringing back the paint DUDE your trucks F**KING GORGEOUS!!!!!! and consequently I wish mine looked half as good as yours does..........I know the only way the top of the Cab and the hood will be brought back is to have them stripped to the bare metal and build back up from there with primer paint and clear coat otherwise that paint thats on it now is DEAD with a Capital D brotha

Couldnt get the zf trans in a half ton either... Looks like someone did some drivetrain swappin in the last 20 years.

Gotta love pullin trucks outta the weeds man, This is what my F-250 looked like the week i brought it home. It had been sitting on the edge of a farmers field, with a big round hay bale leaning on it. Found all sorts of mouse turds around, even had 3 dead ones in the air cleaner box, and 2 under the seat. Had been drivin my wrecked F150 there like that for 3 months waiting for spring to come and bring the F250 home. Be glad your hood and roof hadnt gotten as bad as mine!

Ok, so some answers for you.....Yes it is the EFI 351W, it came with the 302 EFI engine, but due to some bad gas and some high levels of testosterone, a highway race put a hole the size of my thumb in the #8 piston. A rebuild kit was about as much as a whole junkyard motor, so the 351W was swapped in from a '94 Bronco. I get about 16mpg highway, with about 10-12 around town depending on how much I hotrod around.

I was hoping you might have had some secret to bringing the paint back because yeah, the paint on the hood and cab is just bad. Like I said though, it is kinda coming back with just regular buffing compound, but the actual paint comes off too. Ill post a better picture of the "water effect" look that I've been able to bring the paint back with, but actually "cut through" the blue paint down to the base color, so it has a wavy kinda scheme. Here you can see it in this picture, just follow the blue on the top part of the bed and watch how the shades change.

You are right on there my man. That would be all the swapping I've done actually in the last 3 years. The 351W for the 302, and I just got plain old tired of the AOD (there was absolutely nothign wrong with the auto trans) and I shoved in the ZF for a tough combination that you cant get in an F150 unless you do it yourself
